Flat Joe in Bend, Oregon.

First off I would like to say thanks to all the Flat Joe followers out there. It has been going really well and I hope that in the near future I will be able to expand the project to reach out to even more people and be able to bring you even more content.

The latest Flat Joe caretaker is Jenn from Bend Oregon. She had contacted me when I put a post up on facebook and she was so excited that I really could't say no. Flat Joe arrived to Bend, Oregon safely on 5/18/10 after his last journey to Napa, California!

A little about Flat Joe, before we get started. Joseph, an amazing jewelry designer has created a necklace character and he goes by the name of Joe. He travels around to meet new people and to visit different places.

Joseph's jewelry consists of custom hand-made necklaces that come in different styles and they can also include gems, birthstones, pearls, and crystals! He also repairs any kind of jewelry and buys used gold, too. You can catch a glimpse of his beautiful jewelry here--Joseph Allen Designs

First off, he met me right out of the mail.

Next, he was introduced to the amazing view of Bend, Oregon from our back deck.

I was so excited to host Flat Joe! He came to us all the way from Georgia, and seemed a little jet-lagged from the long trip! After a nice nap to acclimate him to our timezone, we started our adventures.

Where in the world is Flat Joe?

Well......... He's not too far away. He's been visiting Tina in Cumming, GA and will now be heading to the other side of the country, beautiful Napa in California. Maybe Flat Joe will will get to do a little wine tasting? I can't wait to see how it goes.

I am working on a new website and blog and I think I would like to create some sort of map or app that would track flat joe and maybe allow some sort of interaction. Any ideas? I'd love to hear them!

Flat Joe In Georgia.

Well, wouldn't you know that I've gone on several hikes and failed to make a blog posting, shame, shame, shame on me. I'm thrilled to tell you all about my adventure with Flat Joe --he's sterling, flat, lightweight, and will travel with you wherever you go. He won't get in the way and he's a conversation piece. Among his very hectic schedule (hey I'm a stay at home mom, what can I say) I've hit the highlights of our time together. Flat Joe visited the Sawnee Mountain Preserve and went on a short little hike to the Indian Seats, what a view!

Arriving to me in style --love the blue silk bag, at Sugar Hill UMC just after bible study with BSF International. You can find out more when you go to bsfinternational.org --He's been pretty busy since then, visiting Whitlow Elementary where the third graders and Kindergarten children just swooned over him.

Then he hung around while preparing for the neighborhood Easter Egg hunt at Coventry in Forsyth. He also helped out stuffing eggs for Parkway Church's Egg Hunt too. Over all he helped stuff over 700 eggs ... wow! Flat Joe also took a road trip to Madison GA to view the Andy Warhol exhibit at the Madison Cultural Art Center, what a beautiful town so rich in history --it's the town that Sherman didn't burn down. He's all excited about Easter and is looking forward to Spring Break ~where he will be going on his next adventure???
