Flat Joe's First Visit!

Flat Joe's first visit is over and he is now heading out to Cumming, Georgia! Paige did a great job of taking care of Flat Joe and did a wonderful write up on her blog. She has chosen Susan G. Komen to be the organization to which $5.00 of every sale will go to. You can visit Paige's blog and say Hi at "Some Days You Gotta Dance".

Here are some words and pictures from Paige:

Flat Joe came to visit me in Alabama! The Flat Joe project is the creation of artist Joe over at Joseph Allen Designs. It is a variation of the Flat Stanley project that school age children participate in. I was Joe's first caretaker and it was a whirlwind of a week. I wish I had been able to document it better, but I did good to get through the week as we had our school auction during his visit.

Meet Joe -

Joe arrived in Anniston, Alabama which is nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains, conveniently located halfway between Birmingham and Atlanta. Our are has a diverse economy, a beautiful natural setting and warm, friendly people. We have a Museum of Natural History, the Berman Museum of World History, the Chief Ladiga Trail, the Pinhoti Hiking Trail and the base formerly known as Ft. McClellan. We are the summer home to the Alabama Symphony Orchestra and home to the Knox Concert Series. We also host the Noble Street Bike Race and the Woodstock 5K race.

Since I work at a PK3-12 grade college-preparatory school, most of Joe's week was spent doing school related work. We attended a Varsity Baseball game... a Varsity Girls' Soccer game... and we babysat my two nephews (hence the dump truck)...

Joe had a busy week as we also taught 4 and 5 year old Sunday School, 3 and 4 year old Cubbies and attended our school's annual auction.

He is now leaving Anniston, Alabama and is headed to Cumming, Georgia.
